I am heavily sceptical of Discord and have had a lot of issues in the last days - nothing against the company and the apps are cool - but do we all really need to flock to it instead of having decentralized systems to communicate through?

The problem with Obsidian on desktop is that it is an Electron based application and that it therefor comes with the usual Electron related problems and bugs. For example - due to GPU acceleration issues in Electron, Obsidian is starting with an unusable black screen on Fedora VM running on Apple M1. The most frustrating part: it worked for a while, until it didn't. There doesn't seem to be real attention to this issue from Obsidian's side. So good thing that machine is not my main PC.
Pretty cool how a bug in web.whatsapp.com which occurred in Firefox since a couple of days, is being resolved so quickly by an active community and a savy and pretty cool front-end engineer at Meta. Kudos to Egrodo for their help! cf. https://

A couple of days with #Fedora as my main OS and it's been going well. No big issues so far. Had to look up a couple of things and installed the Gnome Tweak application pretty fast to make the UI more "familiar" to me. But so far so good! It helps though that many things I do I can do from within the browser.
Could not start the "Secrets" app due to this issue. Switched to Keepass instead.
Anyone else experiencing weird scrolling issues on the NYTimes's mobile pages lately? It just gets stuck for me suddenly after a few strolls on their home page.
After struggling with a Fedora instance to get a lot of files copied from one external USB HD (NTFS) to a new one (exFAT), I tried the same sync process with Beyond Compare on Windows and it just works ... better. First of all I could not install Beyond Compare on ARM, then I found "Kompare", but kept running into various errors which stopped the sync. First HD is NTFS, and the new one is exFAT, issues are probably to be discovered within Fuse, but I cannot reformat the original HD, so there's that. Good thing there are still alternatives.
Giving up on IPFS - at least for a while - having too many issues lately with the software and nobody is pinning my stuff anyway.
Having to solve computer software issues is such a waste of human time.
Epson's unsubscribe form is as bad as it gets. It simply does not work in any browser due to a combination of CORS issues and an impossibly crazy layer of data-mining and tracking added on top of what should be a simple form submit. So I tried the unsubscribe through Postman instead, copying the form fields I found from the web page. It got through to the confirmation page. Let's see if it worked for real.
Going to help out improving Earthstar's "Letterbox" tool a bit next. Started by reviewing and testing the app and creating issues first.
Does anyone actually have BlueTooth headphones that don't have issues with losing connections and such?
BlueTooth is one of those technologies which are brilliant when it works, but OH SO frustrating when there are issues - and there are a lot and happen often.

New addition to the MiniDisc player/recorder devices: a Sony MZ-R70 in near mint condition!
No remote included, but it's not a big loss since the original remote didn't have the LCD display anyway and all the functionality is also accessible on the device itself.
I went with this non-NetMD device for the following reasons:
Some issues:
