Some day I want to be able to say I built something that made it to this list of amazing digital resources and informational and educational content.

In a further move to simplify my digital life I cancelled my IFTTT account. Wasn't really using it for anything really useful. It was fun for a while. But today I no longer need it.

Deleted my Signal account as part of simplifying my digital presence. Only one single person was contacting me over it last year and we both agreed to stick with other means to reach out to each other.

The European Digital Identity project has just saved me by giving me access to my Belgian financial data as a Belgian living in Germany.

It's like I can either keep notes digitally or keep them in my paper notebook - it's hard doing both and I'm more often at the computer, so I am lagging behind in my . Perhaps I simply don't have enough space on my little desk for the notebook and to comfortably write. Needing to move the keyboard aside is too much of a hassle. Digital text files don't take up physical space. Or perhaps I am just lazy.

Sharing the Earthstar Encryption Project again.

> Earthstar is a tool for building undiscoverable, offline-first shared data storage. Users decide which devices their data are stored on, what the infrastructure of their network looks like, the shape of their data, and how they can interact with it.

> Storing and collaborating digital data is an essential part of every day computing, from photo-sharing amongst family members, to document co-authoring between colleagues. Earthstar is a tool for building undiscoverable, offline-first shared data storage. Users decide which devices their data are stored on, what the infrastructure of their network looks like, the shape of their data, and how they can interact with it. The proposed project adds a number of useful features, notably end-to-end encryption (including metadata), P2P discovery in local networks and efficient data synchronisation.

Reading the 134 pages of the bill, I understand the proposal to be a state-run "antivirus" program that must be installed on every digital device and server connected to the Internet, analyzing every text, image and video. If it finds something, you will be reported automatically to Interpol and the program will read the file and remove it from your device and any other server. Before you can use any device, you must identify yourself, no matter if it is a cell phone or a computer.

It is really saddening to see all that financial potential disappear into thin air (or black holes), when it could have been used for so much good - cancer / medicine research is extremely expensive and could use any financial backing possible - yet some people find it more important to virtually own some ugly digital image instead. And worse, then they lose even that to scammers.

Why aren't we talking about digital identities like a transport protocol instead of user interfaces?

Logseq: A privacy-first, open-source knowledge base

"Logseq is a joyful, open-source outliner that works on top of local plain-text Markdown and Org-mode files. Use it to write, organize and share your thoughts, keep your to-do list, and build your own digital garden."

I'm contemplating never to log in again to the bird site, even from before this rich-man-wants-to-control-the-digital-world drama - Logged out two weeks ago and thanks to Indieweb's POSSE I haven't had to actually interact manually with it anymore, all while still being "present" there.
