#Fairphone launched the Fairphone 5 !

Going to keep my Fairphone 3 at least until Christmas while saving up for the €699 investment.
First thing I did after upgrading to Android 13 on my Fairphone 3 was to turn off UI animations. I really do not need my phone's UI to dance all the time.
Pretty cool how our Fairphone 3s (from 2019) got the upgrade to Android 11 over the weekend.
Replaced the failing battery and bottom module, with the USB connector, in my Fairphone 3 and now all is working again. Feels good to be able to "fix" a phone yourself. The price of the replacement parts is not cheap, but I do believe it is worth it. I sent the old parts to the iFixit location in Germany for proper recycling.
Had a great time at the Labyrinth at the "Three Countries Point" in Vaals. It's where The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany share their borders.
But, I got soaked and I think my phone is no longer charging. So since the battery was losing capacity too, I ordered a replacement bottom module part and a replacement battery from Fairphone.
Going to ask FairPhone for a cleaning kit for their phones too - or at least some best practices and advice on how to keep phones sanitized. Part of the longevity of using electronics is an easy way to keep them clean. The ear speaker grill of the FairPhone3 collects gunk a little too easily and it's hard to get it out.
Wouldn't it be cool to organize an Urban Mining Workshop in Düsseldorf some day soon?

Just a quick note to share that I ditched the Nokia 8110 4g and got myself a @Fairphone 3. The Nokia was too limited for what I usually need a smart phone for. And I really support what #Fairphone stands for. Going to test the Nokia as a portable wifi Hotspot for the car.
