Had a wonderful time with my little family at the Düsseldorf Grafenwalder Park. My son loved seeing, hearing and smelling the animals. He enjoyed feeding them too. He got a little nervous when many deer approached a bit too close to his likings. It was really calm in the park, so an excellent time to visit.
So sad to see the big closing sale happening at the Düsseldorf Karstadt. The retail business is having a tough time. Unfair E-commerce by giants like Amazon, COVID-19, mismanagement and speculation, and specifically high rent prices are not helping. Not sure what we can do about this?

The retail business in Düsseldorf Stadtmitte received a big blow yesterday with the announcement that both Karstadt and Galeria malls will close by end of October. There is also a food market. It's unclear if those shops will stay. What happens when supermarkets dissappear from a city center?
The city center of Düsseldorf is getting much more louder again. Seems like things are slowly going back to _normal_. Lots of construction noises and emergency vehicles, with the occasional car horn beeping and helicopters flying over.
