The crypto headlines this week on Web3IsGoingGreat are again really something ... 👍 https://
If someone pitches you on a "great" Web3 project, ask them if it requires buying or selling crypto to do what they say it does.
Discovered a bit late that the fees charged for buying crypto using credit/debit cards are way higher than if you would deposit cash by bank transfer first. As with any financial process it's worth it to think before you act quickly out of convenience or emotion.

Are people really supposed to have a separate "Wallet" app for every crypto currency they have an interest in? Trying out some tokens to understand the (fin)tech and you end up easily with a handful of non-compatible applications on the Web and on your phone. And for each of these you really need to be careful for not losing access to or them becoming obsolete or getting hacked / stolen. Can't imagine what kind of nightmare it must be for any business owner even considering accepting crypto tokens. Sure, there are "solutions" out there that have a promise to solve this, but the problem with decentralization is that literally anyone can make this whole landscape even more complex at any given time. So to not be completely left in the dark, I decided to get to know the tools and the people involved.
Some exciting things are happening in crypto today and tomorrow.
The CirclesUBI crypto project got my attention recently. It shares some idealistic views of Scuttlebutt.

Nevertheless, getting the free Stellar Lumens as a gift by Keybase and Stellar.org, offered me an insight into the crypto currency trading World. The tools and the technology behind all of it amazes me.
If all the energy, time and effort currently being put into #crypto currency would be invested in finding a cure for cancer or resolving the climate crisis, we would have probably been a step ahead in the direction already.
If all the time, effort and energy currently being put into crypto-currencies in the last couple of years would have been invested instead in finding a solution for climate change or a cure for a type of cancer, we've probably already had some promising results by now. Possibly. Maybe. Hopefully we will get our focus back to what really matters soon.
