Pretty cool how a bug in web.whatsapp.com which occurred in Firefox since a couple of days, is being resolved so quickly by an active community and a savy and pretty cool front-end engineer at Meta. Kudos to Egrodo for their help! cf. https://webcompat.com/issues/125920#issuecomment-1682993012 and https://github.com/Egrodo

A new week brings a new Android issue to resolve. The phone now goes into screen lock whenever I play a video from Firefox. Having a hard time ploughing through loads of crappy websites to be able to find any thing remotely related to find out what to do about this. The Internet is a mess.

Pretty bad how an endless loop in Google Maps can cause Firefox on Fedora - running in a VM - to crash the OS completely. Not sure what is going on. Seems like the is an endless redirect between two domains fetched from maps.google.com.

A bit annoying how "installed" web apps through seem to disappear without notice on . Not super great for s

I've been using FireFox as my main browser for a long time now - wanted to give Edge a try at work since it integrates with Microsoft's office stuff well - but I am having a hard time liking the overall experience. Tab navigation is a confusing - sessions seems to time-out more - ... stuff that didn't happen on FireFox... Going to give it another day or two.

Seems like Chromium/Electron based applications don't work well on Elementary OS 6, tried it yesterday and wanted to run Vivaldi browser but it only showed a blank / white square; but Firefox worked fine. Will try to see if there is a work-around because I do want to give that OS a go. Also, Vivaldi really has cool ideas for managing tabs, but I already get anxious when I have 9 tabs open due to my old-school idea that every
10:39 tab open is just there munching on RAM.

Very frustrating to see more and more sites and web apps that don't work properly in Firefox.

Uninstalled Brave browser and went back to only using Firefox.

When did Firefox stop supporting ftp:// links?

Conflicted about Flattr and Coil - Flattr doesn't work on Firefox and Coil does not have a lot of support - so I end up sending money to Flattr and Coil instead of distributing it to the sites I actually wanted to support - Hate it that I am stuck with a Chrome based browser for Flattr. Also: Brave is making it harder and harder to switch to any other browser as all of their - albeit cool - services are only available in their browser.

The ability to drag and drop elements in the Firefox "inspect" console is really neat.

I've been testing out Brave Browser for a week. It's impressive with its support for IPFS and its Brave Attention Token idea. And it comes with many other interesting ideas. Havent ditched Firefox yet however. Keep using that one for my development work.

I looked up a song from the sound track of "League Of Legends" using Duck Duck Go, and found a site with the lyrics. I used Firefox. Note that I don't play the game or have ever looked it up before. Now guess what I see as "recommended for you" in Google Play store? You guessed it : some League Of Legends game. There is no escaping Google. And I need to extend the PiHole to all my devices at home.

Wanted to remove a "home" pinned site on Android and selected "uninstall", so Firefox completely uninstalled. Doh.
